Supposedly I am in the hangover stage. I feel a little tired, but I feel pretty good all things considered. I already getting a little tired of potatoes and vegetables which is scary because I till have 27 days... uh oh.
Today is Friday and so many of my friend groups are going out. "What can you drink? You can even have wine? Well that sinks!" So, long story short, I'm going out for water tonight. It's gonna be great!
I discovered that I like eggs sunny side up today! I thought that was nasty and unhygienic, but it turns out, they are actually really tasty.
At the end of the day, I feel a little tired and a lot bloated, but TGIF!
Think maybe I'm eating too many potatoes?

Day 2
My boyfriend took me out tonight. I had a burger and a side salad. With no buns. No cheese. No sauce. No dressing. No croutons... pretty much I had lettuce with carrots and a patty with pickles..
My boyfriend ate a Monte Cristo. I may have told him i hated him a little...
This experience made me think deeply about how I could make my own fries...

Day 1
So much for prep. Day 1 starts off at my sister's house in Indy. We went to the IU/Wisconsin game last night (sadly my hoosiers lost).
My sister has not prepared for the Whole30 yet and has one bag of frozen vegetables and eggs that expired November 4th... so on the way home, I grab a fresh honeycrisp apple from Trader Joes. (I really wish Fort Wayne would get a Trader Joes.)
The apple was a great way to start my day. I felt refreshed and surprisingly full!
When I arrived home, it was lunchtime, so I made myself some scrambled eggs with garlic, salt, and pepper. It was okay. Didn't readout full me up, and I really don't like eggs...maybe next time I'll add some veggies and potatoes.
Speaking of veggies and potatoes, that's what I decided on for dinner. After a long afternoon of procrastinated grading, I decided to cook potatoes, chicken, and stir fry. I steamed some vegetables and then sautéed them with garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. I also boiled some small red potatoes, and then sautéed them with garlic, pepper, oregano, and smoky pepper. It tasted delicious! I'm pretty proud of myself. And I even had left overs for lunch tomorrow!

Prep
My sister has talked me into doing the Whole30 diet. Let me give you some background on myself. I like food. I eat a lot of food. Pasta is my favorite food. I drink at least 3 pops a day. On this diet I eat only vegetables and fruit and nuts... that's about it. But I love my sister and I decide to do it with her. So this blog is pretty much to fill the void in my life where food should be.
So prep: what this post is supposed to be about. I emptied my fridge and pantry of anything that is off limits and I went shopping. First thing I notice is that this is going to be expensive. I'm on a budget, so I got a bunch of frozen veggies, some canned tuna, chicken, and fruit (I realize now that I need some fresh fruit as well). I also bought almond milk, coconut water, eggs, and peanuts.
I felt broke but pretty good as I left the grocery, ready to start my healthier lifestyle!
I went home and read more about the Whole30 and realized that I could not eat the peanuts that I had just bought or the vegetable oil I had kept in my pantry. Also apparently corn is a grain... So off on another shopping trip to get almonds and canola oil.
Finally, I was ready for the Whole30 to begin.
